Renovations for Utilities Customer Service Center & Cambridge Center, Lima, OH

Cambridge Center

Winner of an "Award of Excellence" presented by the Ohio Valley Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc.

• 15,854 sq. ft. renovation of the former Amtrak Train Depot and Cambridge Hotel in Lima, OH.
• Both Structures were built in the late 1800's.  Special attention had to be paid in keeping the original appearance during the renovation.
• No existing electric was used.  All new panels and electric were installed throughout.

This renovation project came with many surprises and obstacles posing a great challenge to everyone.  Fortunately the hard work paid off resulting in two attractive buildings that have been refurbished for functionality and remain as beautiful historical structures in the City of Lima.

The cooperative effort on this project allowed completion on time and within cost limitations.  Because of this, those who were responsible for the project are quite proud of the effort

Wilson Memorial Hospital Copeland-Emerson Family Birth Center

• 17,000 sq. ft. addition to existing hospital.
• 10 private birthing suites, 4 postpartum rooms, 3 triage units, 1 operating room, 1 isolation room, nursery, gift shop, & waiting areas.
• All electric feeds from existing hospital.
• State-of-the-art security system.

This complicated addition required great skill from Sollmann Electric's electricians and project management.
Creative planning was essential to complete this project on time.

On behalf of Wilson Memorial Hospital, this letter is to extend our thanks to you for the excellent performance provided by your employees on the successful completion of the Copeland-Emerson Family Birth Center.

As you are well aware, this project called for an aggressive timeframe within a fixed budget.  Numerous systems, including emergency generator/power, extensive data and communications, and special security features complicated the installation.

Of particular note was the outstanding performance of Ken Klopfenstein.  Throughout the project, Ken raised timely and appropriate issues for consideration which improved the overall quality of the project.  On several occasions, he suggested changes to enhance future accessibility and maintenance of the birth center.  In short, his perspective was doing it right and we appreciated that.
